Facebook Murder
Sunday, January 25, 2009
Edward Richardson has recently been found guilty for murdering his wife after becoming enraged that she had changed her Facebook status to “single”. Edward Richardson was found guilty of stabbing his estranged wife Sarah Richardson to death.
Sarah Richardson had been living with her parents after a falling out with Edward. While she was there she had changed her status from Married to Single on her Facebook account. Edward then broke in and killed her. Later, he tried and failed to kill himself.
According to Computer Weekly, this is not the first Facebook murder in the U.K. It’s in fact the third death resulting from a Facebook issue.
Last year in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, a man murdered his wife and then killed himself after she told visitors to her Facebook page that she was splitting up with him.
Another man from Croydon, Surrey was jailed for life last October after murdering his wife when she changed her Facebook status to “single” days after he left their home.
