Askew Painting Cecs Sketch
Sunday, May 3, 2009The Exchange has recently put together some new sketches for artists to exchange. This video is Askew painting a sketch he chose from the graffiti artist, Cecs. See how Askew executes the sketch.
Askew: “I like how the piece came out although I don’t know if I nailed it exactly the way it was intended. For example, the lean on the A isn’t gangster enough, the cross of the K sits a little high and I really struggle with such bold classic arrows. I found this piece really educational. I think Cecs draws on such a catalog of classic NYC styles, the kind that look really simple but the subtleties are what really make them actually tough to paint!”
