Police Uncover Grow Farm Using Google EarthFriday, January 30, 2009
Beware pot farmers. The police have now started using Google Earth to help in their investigations to bust grow operations.
Swiss police used the global satelite imaging, Google Earth to help aid in an investigation of a marijuana farm. They came across the field in question as they were using Google Earth for a larger investigation they were working on. They ended up coming across a corn field that had a patch of Marijuwana growing in the middle of the farm. As a result of Google’s Big Brother technology, the police confiscated 1.2 tons of marijuana, arrested 16 people, and collected $900,000 in cash and valuables.
