Shepard Fairy Wine Label

The Obey Giant is now on bottles of wine. The street artist Shepard Fairy has recently created some art work for the wine company, Kenwood Vineyards. Kenwood Vineyards has a wine called Chateau Mouton Rothschild, which is a series of French wines dating back to 1945 with wine labels done by famous artists. Some of the artists from the past have been, Salvidor Dali, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol and many more. Check out more of the artists from the past years here.

This product is actually called the Kenwood Vineyards Artist Series, not Chateau Mouton Rothschild. Like the Rothschild however, The Artist Series showcases a new artist each year on the label. (I’ve collected a few vintages myself)

In the beginning the Artist Series highlighted works by contemporary artists. The 1987 vintage broke with tradition by featuring a painting from Joan Miro, and in years since, the Artist Series has presented works from other important artists including Pablo Picasso, Henry Miller, Alexander Calder and Vincent van Gogh.
