(Q): Music seems to play a big role in not only your life, but your art as well. You have done a good amount of design art for some bands in your area. Often times, art inspires art, so I want to ask what does the music mean to you? How do you see yourself moving in that lane?

(A): When I was younger and getting into it everything seemed to go hand in hand. All my friends were into hardcore, skated, wrote graffiti and still today, even though they're all separate, I don't see one without the other. Music has allowed me to travel the country and get up in cities that I might not otherwise get to visit and I really appreciate the accounts of being visually connected to bands or albums that I would be listening to even without having done work for. 'Making it' as an 'artist' doesn't seem like a very realistic platform. So I feel fortunate to be in the position to do some album work, currently and hopefully in the future as well. Outside of the art/design stuff I do for other bands, fucking around with music on my own is just an alternative outlet for what I try to do visually within my own art.

(Q):Explain the actual artistic process you go through when making your art. Some of your art is literally massive -covering full walls- while other pieces are small enough to cover a street sign. I want to know how the creative process differs between each individual piece.

(A):Other than rollers it all starts the same way. I’ll come up with an idea and then shoot photos that represent visually what I’m trying to do. Then take those photos and manipulate and arrange them with scissors and glue sticks at the photo copier. When I’m finished with that I’ll blow the final work up to whatever size and shoot positives and screen print them from that. more often than not the prints come before the wall since I’ll want to get multiple spots with the same thing, and then I’ll tile them or otherwise make them fit each spot but sometimes if I have a really good spot in mind I’ll work on something sized specifically for it.
