The Baltimore street artist Nether has sent us some examples of his wheat pasted pieces of art he’s left around the city of Baltimore. Check out more of his work here.

NETHER is an urban art campaign that hopes to impact and beautify BMORE’s bleakness through vibrant street art with the hopes of evoking public discussion. The pieces that are wheat-pasted to the chosen (usually vacant) surfaces directly comment on the city and the forces that have brought it to its shameful state.

Nether sees his work as a force that solidifies people’s connections to locations in the city that are distinctly Baltimore. He tries to reclaim and recycle the tragic landscape. This city is a place that is simultaneously loved and hated for bringing both contentment and fear, anger and joy; its vibe is a permeating force that becomes part of every mind experiencing its poetic chaos.

Sand One sent us some photos from her recent trip to New York City.

The graffiti writer Rime set out to create 50 characters all together on one wall. He wanted to create a wall that had the similar feel as the some of the end to end throw ups on the New York subway cars in the 70’s and 80’s.

This year in Miami the goal was to find a long enough wall to try a new concept, treating bunched characters like a repeated series of throw ups. I wanted to create something that had a similar feel to what writers of the 70?s & 80?s would paint end to end across subway cars.

The hope was to paint something that grabbed attention for a few seconds while riding by. The longer the wall, the better. With this in mind, I sketched up the idea using the characters eyes as a constant repeating form. Not knowing how long the wall I would end up painting would be, I showed up with only 12 characters and a “YO” throw up sketched…

I am happy with the finished result. Some parts are lacking balance, some have funny errors, but it’s a good attempt at something I will try again. This wall looks best in person, or while driving 45mph down NE Miami Ave…

The graffiti writer Geser recently painted a brand new wall using a new name, “Asuem”. Check out a few progress photos of him painting the wall.

Jumped out recently to do a side-name piece, but as we all know the weather doesn’t always cooperate… This was one of those incredibly deceptive days… one minute the sun was out, the next minute it’s dumping rain. The wall was wet more than half of the day, but luckily was able to just blast right through it.

The graffiti artists El Mac and Kofie have recently painted this large new mural in Los Angeles. The mural was painted for Red Bull Sound Space venue at the KROQ headquarters.
