Show & Tell Gallery Site Launch

The Show & Tell Gallery in downtown Toronto has just launched their website. The Show & Tell Gallery focuses on Canadian contemporary and street art. To celebrate the launch of their new website, they are hosting an art show featuring some original art work from Toronto artists: Egr, Brian Donnelly, Rey Ortega, Allan Ryan, Nick Fox, Elicser, and Mediah. The show is running until July 8th.

Avoiding Camera Signatures

If you take enough images with your digital camera, they can all be compared together and a unique signature can be determined. This means that even when you think that you are posting a photo anonymously to the internet, you are actually providing clues for the government to better tell who you are. The larger the sample size of images they have, the easier it is them to track down images coming from the same camera. Once they know all the images are coming from the same camera, all they then have to do is find that camera and take a picture to confirm it beyond a reasonable doubt. The New York Times has done an article on the popular photography site, Flickr. Flickr was founded by Canadian company Ludicorp in 2004. Four years later, there are more than two billion images that currently circulate on the site. The article discusses some highlights of Flickr and a few negatives for the future of photography.
