City Renewal Project

Fauxreel

Wooster Collective will be heading to Toronto on Friday November 7th, for the City Renewal Project. The City Renewal Project is a large-scale, site-specific collaborative installation by Fauxreel and Specter. The project focuses on the state of decay within the city, specifically examining abandoned storefronts and infrastructure that’s on the verge of being erased from the cityscape. Housed inside a 4400 square foot warehouse, the project renews these dilapidated buildings as artistic monuments and documents their history amidst the gentrified frenzy of urban change. The opening of the show is Friday night November 7th from 7 - 11 pm at 39 Lisgar Street.

Wooster Collective will also be giving a lecture on the world of outdoor art. The lecture will be held at 381 Queen Street West, Suite 200. Seating is first come first serve.

Nextwall - The Interactive Graffiti Wall

Posted by Senses Lost On November - 5 - 2008

This is a video of DAIM, SEAK, TASEK, Daddy Cool and DESUR painting a wall that was broadcast live on the internet. The project is the creative laboratory for combining street art with digital media.

Lots of creative ideas on and along with the nextwall are to follow until the end of 2008. These include, for example, a mobile phone guide that explains details of the graffiti to the user; or the “I was here” camera, with which visitors can immortalize themselves on the Internet. In addition, some of the very latest technologies will be tried out: from object recognition and RFID to laser projection.
