trash swag

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Gavin Cameron has created an interesting web-based application called “Trash Swag” that tracks salvageable trash on the streets of Toronto. Photos and a description of the item are submitted to the online map with the item’s location.

To make it easy on Trash Swag users, Gavin has provided his users with ability to email, tweet or submit a find. Eventually he’d even like to implement a way for users to submit item locations by text message. One of the main features is the use of mobile apps for iPhone and Android.

Currently, Trash Swag is only showing Toronto maps but Gavin is focusing on extending the platform to other cities.
