The art is dope. EWOK and SEVER are incredible artists.

It’s unfortunate they were used in this way by a right-wing Pro Israel group. Unlike Banksy, etc. who have painted the wall here: http://www.khtt.net/page/13391/en these images are from the Israel side of the wall and have permission and backing from the Israeli military to paint them. It’s part of a propaganda campaign designed to counter the positive effects painting the Palestinian side of the wall.

For those who don’t know, the wall cuts deeply into Palestinian territory, cutting off farmers from their land and even people from their own towns. Israel’s own supreme court ruled that the barrier violates International Law. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_West_Bank_barrier

Also, tagging FREE REVOK outside an Israel Occupation army post deep in Hebron? For those who don’t know, Hebron is deep within Palestine, but 86 radical Israeli families have claimed part of the city for themselves and are protected by hundreds of soldiers. The extremist settlers routinely harass and humiliate the Palestinians whose land they’ve taken over and living there as a non-Jew in the occupied part of the city is a nightmare. Within Israel, Hebron is super controversial and considered by many Israelis an extremist, religious fanatic embarrassment. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hebron#Jewish_settlement_after_the_Six-Day_War

I’m pretty sure many if not most of the artists involved in this trip understood that they were going to help make propaganda for a group that’s caters to the hard core right wing. The art is still dope but damn they got swindled on the politics side of things, unless all of them are true believers.

Maybe they just wanted a free trip and weren’t there endorsing anything?
