The city of Los Angeles shows their disrespect to their own history by buffing one the largest graffiti painting of all time. This particular painting was done by the graffiti writer Saber. The painting was created using rollers and it took Saber a year and a half to complete. Saber worked on it so long that he suffered a knee injury from standing on the slanted surface of the LA riverbed.
California is in a recession and has been having troubles buying books for schools but had enough money to buff the LA River.

Does anybody know if they got the MTA roller too?
Yes, the MTA roller was buffed as well, all part of an effort funded with federal stimulus dollars.
Well. I suppose that stimuls money hired a few city workers, but you would think there would be more pressing social issues for them. Maybe a cleaner wall there feel more relaxed and safe.
i cant believe they would spend all that money and effort to erase a piece of history…its sad to think they can fork up mpney to buff the river yet they cant keep people working or pay teachers enough to stay in schools…every ounce of my body hates those involved with the project
just an edit, it didnt take a year and a half. only 35 days.
