Shepard Fairey Arrested In Boston
Monday, February 9, 2009
The street artist behind the Obama Hope campaign posters, Shepard Fairey was recently arrested in Boston.
After talking about his work in a gallery (see video below) the Boston police were granted few open warrants for some work that Shepard Fairey had done on a national monument building in Boston in the past. The Boston police raided Shepard’s hotel room.
According to the new graffiti laws in Boston, you may be charged with a count for each piece of work the cops can tie to anything on your hard drive or in your possession. Apparently you don’t even have to be caught in the act. Which doesn’t make much sense because we all know that taking photos of graffiti isn’t illegal.
